baja breeze layout

salamanca place

look familiar, this layout is in the spring mini catalouge, I have changed it a little as by now I am sure you realise I can’t make a layout with one photo!  the paper is walk in park (about to go) the ribbon baja breeze and white, layered onto baja breeze and basic grey cardstock, and I have used a retired rubon for journalling. Because I cased the layout this page was very quick to make, which is great when time is something you don’t have a lot of, all the stampin up mini’s and catalogues are great for inspiration they are not just for seeing what new items are for sale, so don’t throw out your old mini’s and make sure you grab a new one for summer from me, just email if you want one and I’ll send one of to you (in australia of course).

page two of the southern belles layout challenge

peninsula layout 2

I’ve stuck to the layout challenge as per the southern belles october challenge (see the blog – there is some great enteries) once again Baja Blue cardstock, Parisian Breeze specialty dsp, and the stamps from Sense of Time, I love the saying, it fitted perfectly our day wondering around the peninsula, we were in no hurry and had a lovely beach walk, cliff walk, etc.  I stamped the clock onto acetate with stazon ink and adhered with a brad in the clock handles, I find it easier to use brads to adhere acetate, the saying i have adhered onto a chip tag from the onboard essentials. If you have any queries please contact me and hope to see some of your layouts appearing on the southern belles blog soon.

I’m back

well I’ve been away for the weekend, having a girlie weekend with my sister, we had a lot of fun, and I can hardly talk now, but the break away was fantastic, we went the scenic route to Naracoorte along the coorong, the best drive, although very windy coming home, I really had to hold onto the car or get blown away! You will hear more about that trip later when I hopefully get it scrapped, but in the meantime I’ve finally managed to complete my page for shirley’s challenge over on the Southern Belles blog, there are already a couple of entries up and fantastic ideas too, I had this layed out as soon as the challenge went up but only now have I had time to adhere it,

shirley challenge

I had these piccies already to layout as it’s my next page for our tassie album, so her layout came along at the right time, I’ve used the Parisian Breeze paper again, can’t believe this is my second layout using this paper and I still have half a pack left, and I will admit I didn’t think much of it in the mini, but since I got it I have used this paper more than any other I have bought! I have also used the textured baja breeze cardstock, and some of the chipboard which I covered, and adhered a couple of people shots onto as a layout with just scene’s can be a bit boring, here is a close up of the chipboard

well must dash, have heaps to do, hope to catch you again soon.

scary layout

another layout for my tassie holiday folder completed, must say a big thanks to Sue for sending the images to me, now that I’ve worked with them I can see heaps of potential so I’ll end up buying them yet! I went with the black and white scheme, and must admit there is some non stampin up brads, and rubon’s on these but the rest is SU.

tassie layout

our trip to tassie 3 years ago isn’t even half way through being scrapped yet, I’m only up to day 3 but I have so many photo’s that I can’t leave out, still it is getting a lot quicker now as I have so many things on hand now and some of the new stamps and embellishments in the mini are really helping.

tessellated pavement

this is page two I’ve used Sahara Sand cardstock, and as I wanted to use multi photos very little embellishment, I really want my holiday snaps to stand out.  I have stamped a retired stipple shell set cut out and 3d in sahara sand onto ivory cardstock, and I’ve used a spellbinder to layer one of the label punch and stamp in riding hood red for the destination, this was used as it fitted in so well with the new ribbon from the mini, which I’ve used below on page one, I’ve tied the ribbon around some pacific blue cardstock, as the stripes just remind me of the beach

tesselletad pavement

i’ve used a new wheel down the side which is full of summery words, and i’ve also cutout some of those words to use throughout the layout to describe our day. hope you have enjoyed looking at this, and don’t forget to order your mini.

Hoppy Memories

I finally got a little bit of time to do a scrap page! I’ve been looking at these photos for months – they are displayed in my scrap room waiting with all the others to scrap, well the other day when I was visiting Nicoles (sorry you will have to click on her name, I forgot to jot down the link) she had challenged everyone to do a page from the Hoppy Memories scrap kit,  I only had a short time so I copied the sample from the kit, changed the colours a bit, and yah very quick – hope you like it. (I love that about these kits, you can get a page done in as little as 10 minutes!) check them out from page 138 on.

I’ll be getting a lot more of these I can tell you, I’m about to start the album which I am planning to give David on his 21st birthday, (a couple of years yet thank god, but it’s going to take me that long!). The colours above are a bit funny, I was deleting a lot of old stuff of here and maybe I have done something strange! Anyway I haven’t forgotten the candy blog – I will tell you that Linda has won it and Judith is getting a consulation prize, thanks everyone for playing along, and I’ll edit that post tomorrow with the answers!

autumn layout

I love autumn it’s my favourite season and the main reason is the colours of autumn, I was in the Adelaide Botanical gardens on a very misty day and got some good shots around the lake, The Really Rust cardstock, Old Olive, more mustard, Kiwi Kiss and Summer Sun all go well in an autumn layout, it’s based on the card I made yesterday, hope you like it

autumn colours

once again I used the crimper, and I’ve also used the Wild West Alphabet, here is a close up of the flower, I’ve added some supernova orange glitter to the flower and it’s really lifted it

autumn flower

hope your saturday has been as productive as mine, i made this layout in between pruning my roses, taking a long walk with the family, and making some soup for my son to snack on. I hope tomorrow is a bit more restful!! See you then.

Colour Challenge layout

For the second Elite Challenge this month, I chose to make a layout using the colours in the challenge, Pink pirouette, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey, and Going Grey. I’ve used pink in a boy layout and I think it looks pretty cool,

brothers

what do you think, I reckon it lifts the page.  I’ve covered the On Board Loads of Letters (page 146 $23.95) with designer paper in pink piroutte, baja breeze (page 135) and Basic Grey (only available as a hostess award- contact me for more information if you are interested in that one), I made the background for the photos out of scraps of cardstock and used the Together saying from Life Definitions (page 123) that set is great for scrapbookers, this saying says it all for these two boys and I don’t have to add any other journalling to this page.  I’m off to clean out some cupboards now, need to make more room for stamps! so I’ll see you tomorrow.

Buttons

Yes, two updates in one day! After updating the blog below, I realised that you couldn’t really see the button that well, so i went and took a photo

buttons

the button I used was the little pink one shaped like a flower, aren’t these just lovely buttons, I also took a close up of the Latte one’s as well

latte buttons

As I said before these are on page 151 and they are $15.50 each for 30 buttons. Well I’m back to cover more chipboard, I’ll have a very nice layout for you tomorrow!

Baby Layout 3

abby 5 mths

This is the layout for 5 months, I thought it would be nice to have a few spaces for journalling or photo’s so have kept the embellishments to the minimum, now apart from the cardstock (Sage Shadow) and the new pink pirouette paper, the rest is actually retired, except the middle button isn’t it lovely.  Have a look at page 151 of the current catalogue for a closer look of these buttons, they are gorgegous and so reasonably priced.  Well I’m off to my craft table now, it’s cold and wet, and I’m feeling better today so it will be the first chance I’ve had to craft in 5 days!
