good cheer #3

good cheer 3

and now in traditional colours, real red and green, this one has been stamped onto vellum once again, with black stazon this time, and coloured in a bit with red, green and brown markers, I didn’t want to colour the whole image it would look to much but just picking out parts looks quite good without being overwhelming.  The holly has been silver embossed, and I must admit I would like to see the santa embossed now, so if I get time before the end of the month this set may reappear, but for now, that is it for the good cheer set.  Remember it is going at the end of november so don’t dawdle if you want it. Tomorrow there will be a guest designer card up so be sure to pop over to see who it is.

might be a bit hard to see, but I have stamped the image on vellum with white stazon, layered onto whisper white, and Night of Navy, a bit of glitter in the wreath, and I have also used the 5/16″ white brads, these are only available until the end of november so be quick, once they are gone, you may not see them again- not everything makes it into the new catalogue. I think the white grosgrain ribbon lifts this card.  tune in tomorrow for number 3.

good cheer

this is the easel card doing the blog rounds,  it really is a great little card and folds flat, for my version I have used the craft white ink to stamp the santa,, you need a light touch with this one as it sometimes looks like santa has a black eye, if you are too heavy handed, this has caused me a lot of grief, and until a few days ago, I hadn’t touch it then hammo 3 cards one after the other, sometimes you just have to sit and play with a stamp and before you know it, heaps of ideas! anyway, I didn’t want this too plain so my stamping friend Judith suggested going around the edge with silver ink, (that took more than 24 hours to dry, does anyone else have this long drying time with the encore ink?) the cardstock is riding hood red, and the holly was stamped onto glorious green, coloured with red pencil, then heaps of crystal effects to give it the nice raised bit to hold the easle card up like this

and the riding hood red taffetta ribbon finished it off.  Have any of you made one of these easle cards yet? I know Sue has so pop over and have a look at her version, and here is a side view of mine.  good cheer side view

punches three

punches three

I do like this paper from the I wish scrap kit, adhered onto gold metallic card stock, and textured chocolate chip, a riding hood red taffetta ribbon, and the xmas stamp from the hostess set punches three, and a very quick card ensues. I still haven’t made any more things to show you busy with the regional swaps now, looking forward to my holidays at the end of next week, then I am taking a break and crafting for me! I can still be contacted for orders etc, but you will have to contact me by email now, due to the problems with our phone (see post below – I missed a vital call from a customer because of this so I’m not going to be very happy if it continues, and may have to get the telco onto it).  I’d best be off and try to make my sisters birthday card or she will be getting a shop bought card, and has already told me she won’t be impressed by that! hope to catch you soon.

White ink challenge

last week Roz challenged the Southern Belles to make a card using white ink,  I have no end of trouble using my white ink pad it never seems to come out very well, what do you think’

so swirled

using the white ink (and let me tell you my stamp was drenched but the card seems to drink it up) and the snow swirled stamp set, onto brilliant blue card, I’ve gold embossed around the tree, and topped off with a stamp from punches three which is a hostess gift set . Well that’s it with the challenges for this week, Hopefully I’ll have a layout finished for you tomorrow. thanks for looking and any tips on the white ink situation would be gratefully received.

I liked the idea of hanging a bauble as something different. Have a merry and safe christmas.

Roz’s Project

Sorry I didn’t post this before, the camp caught up with me and I’ve been resting up, just a quick post tonight as I want to watch catalyst it’s about looking after your bones and as I’ve just had my knee strapped up I think it will be interesting.  Onto the projects we did with Roz, first up is the christmas card with the pop up inside, if you want to see how this is made go over to Roz’s blog and watch the video,

Cards from the camp

We had a very enjoyable weekend at the camp, we spent all day Sunday stamping away and having a ball.  On the Saturday we had a long walk along the beach the sea air was so refreshing and a great way to start the weekend by relaxing, I got some great sunset shots which I’ll post later in the week, however I intend to post a project a day so that you can see how much we did, it was well worth the money.   The camp was run by some of my team mates on the Southern Belles Team and it was fantastic to see them in action, they are all so talented, and generous with their skills. The first project I’ll show you was run by Tracie Woodcock, we made two cards that are just gorgeous.

from-the-garden-2

This one is From The Garden (a hostess gift) coloured using markers and watercolour pencils with a blender pen, I love how the watercolour pencils make it quite easy. This is cutout and layered onto a vanilla card stamped with a background stamp, and some layered cardstock.

next is a christmas card from Merry Merry set, stamped randomly,  gold embossed and punched embellishments.    To see more of Tracie’s work pop over to her blog, the address is on the sidebar, she has done some lovely layouts and matching cards. I’m off to finish up some of the projects.  Thanks for dropping by.

Lovely as a Tree

This is a great set to use for christmas cards, the fir tree looks great with glitter.  I’ve made this card for the Interesting background challenge from 2 weeks ago, so my background has been scoured in a diamond shape using my new scor-pal (how did I ever live without this) I’ve then sponged Blue Bayou and Purely Pomegrante, and the tree on top.

I’ve been using the last few challenges to get my christmas cards made but I’m also done now,  it’s a great way to have a stash of different cards, now the problem is choosing who to send them too.  I’m still one challenge behind so hopefully I’ll be back tonight with the gloss card challenge.
