spritzed #3

the final spritzed card, and this one is also the elite challenge number 1 for November, we had to use the Just Beachy set, and I have spritzed the background with the following markers Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Mellow moss and Bashful blue, I used the tearing edge ruler to tear the top end, and layered onto Pacific Blue card with the Lazy Days wheel on the background, this is a great wheel for scrapping as it has a lot of words in different fonts, and some piccies, but you will see more of the wheel later this month, as it is the final month to order from the spring mini, so I am intending to use all the stamps from the mini to say a final farewell to them before the new summer mini starts on December 1st.(and the sneak peak shows some nice sets coming) but really if you want anything from the spring mini please be quick to order, contact me as soon as possible so you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for coming by and tommorrow will be day one of the set Good Cheer so be sure to drop by and see what I have come up with.

spritzed #2
I did say awhile ago I had more spritzed cards up my sleeve, so here is my second one

now I’m not sure if it has shown up well, but I have punched out some star shapes and temporarily adhered them then spritzed all over with Lovely lilac, orchid opulence and brillant blue, once the shapes are removed it leaves a white shape onto which I have added some silver star brads, and the saying. This card is for Alex when he finishes school in the next couple of weeks. I have to admit I find it hard to use the spritzer for long, you do need strong wrists for that tool but the effect is really worth it. Before I go today I would just like to thank a couple of people, first Sue Poile awarded me a blog award last month and I never got around to acknowledging or thanking her due to being so busy, but Thankyou very much Sue, it really did give me a lift, and also to Kelly Mayou who chose my site as a late night stampers blog choice, it really meant a lot to me, to be chosen, I sometimes have doubts about continuing this blog due to time constraints but it gives me a great lift when I am told that other people appreciate the effort, so thank you both very much.

well here it is

now I know you are all wondering why it took two weeks to make, actually if I was able to sit down until it was finished it would have taken 10 minutes, but I kept getting interrupted annoying eh, I’ve spritzed the flower with my pink passion marker, here is a close up

I like the way it just adds a bit to the flower, and as Helen is a bit of a bling person, I’ve added a nice rhinestone brad, and some silver hodgepodge, a grey taffetta ribbon, and some silver embossing, the paper is kiwi kiss designer, and the inside of the card has been decorated too. Hope you enjoy it, and I would like to be back soon with some more spritzer ideas, but you can see how long it took me for this card, and that is my life lately. Come on end of exams pleeeze.

a xmas tree

neat idea eh. I got this idea from an ad in the paper the other day, saw it and thought I could make a card out of that, and here we are, the photo hasn’t come out too well, thanks to mr flash, the circle up the top is silver metallic cardstock, embossed in white, the red circles are riding hood red, embossed in silver, and the bottom bit is the designer label punch, with the circle bit cut off, if you like this enough to case it, just a word of advice, do the embossing first and then punch out the circles, I did the other way round and now I’ve got a burnt finger! Well must get going again, we are into the exam period now, so I may or may not be able to post more often or not, depending I suppose if I need to go hide away! catch up on sunday though, later in the day, that’s when Helen’s birthday will be up – it took me two weeks to make it!
oops forgot to add that the stamp sets are season of joy, snow swirled, and two retired (that’s the one of top of the tree from merry merry, and the three in the middle from snow burst)

a surprise from Shirley
I received a lovely card from Shirley the other day, I haven’t been well again, (actually I’ve been ill most of this year so I think I will be glad when it’s over! and it’s such a long wait to get into the specialist!) and Shirley has cheered me up with this gorgeous card, it’s a single bit of cardstock, but I really love it, Thanks so Much Shirley.

actually I’d like to know where Shirley gets her ideas from, she always comes up with the most unusual designs!

October challenge 1
I may not get all the october challenges finished this month, it’s a busy month, but I still like to take some time out to craft for me and that means doing a few challenges, I get a lot of new ideas by completing challenges and I like to see what everyone else comes up with too, so today I completed the Elite Challenge using the stamp set Forest Friends, mine is a simple card, as most of mine do tend to be, I like layers etc, but I always seem to come up with a card that is not cluttered etc.

the photo has come out a bit fuzzy, my battery is running low and it will be the first time to be recharged so I want it to be completly exhausted, anyway here is the receipe for the card,
Chocolate chip cardstock, Stamps are Forest friends and Three little words, paper is Good Morning Sunshine, and I’ve gold embossed the tree. Tomorrow I’ll have page two of my tassie layout to show you, I have used the same sketch as before so hope you can pop by to have a look.

sweet always paper
Have you all been visiting the Southern Belles site to check out this month’s challenge? As soon as I saw the challenge from Shirley, I had inspiration for one of the cards I have to make this month, as I have little time at the moment, it had to be quick and this is a great time saver card, all you need is some scrap paper, in this case i used the Sweet Always paper, a square punch, one happy birthday stamp, and there you go. There is some non stampin up pink pearls and gold frames from my stash, to jazz it up a bit.

I hope you will all join in the challenge this month, I’m hoping to get a layout done, to submit, I have the photos and everything just need more of that elusive time to get it together. thanks for dropping by.

Naracoorte scrapbooking and Stamping Fair
next weekend I’ll be at the Naracoorte scrapbooking and stamping fair, held at the naracoorte high school on sunday the 11th October from 9 to 4. I hope to see some of you there, I’ll be doing the make n take table at the stampin up stall, so drop by and say Hi, the cards below are the one’s I’ll be doing on the day, you can do one of the cards for $3.00 or all 3 for $7.00

all these cards feature the crimper tool, so come by and have a try. And I know the bunnies are a bit big for the train, but it reminds me of the most ridiculous movie I was made to watch at high school once, called the Giant Bunnies, to this day I still do not know what that movie was about, or why we had to watch it!

Helen’s challenge
remember a few posts down I did the elite colour challenge using More Mustard, Perfect Plum and Baja Breeze, and found it quite difficult – so I threw the challenge open to you all, well look at the fantastic card Helen has come up with

isn’t it gorgeous, must dash have to pay the bills, and other mundane stuff, hope to see you some more tomorrow.
