some from the new summer mini

the stamp set is Natures Nest, and it is my all time favourite, Helen has paper pieced the shell onto the back, for those who don’t know how to do this, you stamp the turtle in chocolate chip on basic grey card, then again onto some paper, cut out the shell and adhere onto base.  I showed Helen a card I made with this technique and the one above is her version, you will see mine soon, I sent it off for a swap and forgot to take a photo so now I have to wait to get the swaps back! See told you I wasn’t concentrating, the paper is from the kaleidoscop range in the mini, and I love this set so much I have ordered another 3 which is very unusual for me but I have almost used up my first lot, it also goes so well with the natures nest stamp set.

ah she has that crimper out again on this one, the chocolate chip card has been crimped, now I have to say you won’t be seeing this stamp set or the tall tales paper on my blog again unless Helen sends me more, because shock horror I do not like this set. I think all the animals look a bit like they need the loo, however even though I’m not getting the paper, it is good value because you can cut out the animals and how many cards will you make out of that, heaps. well the last card for today is

I quite like the whale from this set, I might have to borrow him, and I think this card is great.  I hope you all enjoyed seeing helen’s creations and if you have also, please leave a comment,  I really appreciate her help with my blog.

HELLO I’m back

Thankyou all for your patience during that little upheaval, we got taken off the internet without any notice so I couldn’t warn you, then no net for 3 weeks!!! Can you imagine what happened here, we are all on the net at night, no tv in this house, boy, I will just say it was nice getting to know my sons again!!! But now are back up and running, Please do not use the phone number on my business cards/catalogues etc, it is no longer connected, if you need to get in touch please email me in the first instance until we get the phone up and running properly.

Now for some cards, I know you will all expect that I have spent a lot of time in my craft room with no net to distract me, that unfortunetly was not the case.  I have not been in that room for over 3 weeks, I am taking 15 tablets at the moment, and i must say that I think some of them may be working against each other cause I want to do is sleep, so once again my sister Helen has come to my rescue and just emailed me some of her creations, (I think she is getting sick of seeing the same card on my blog) so here they are, and over the next few days i will have some more xmas cards which Helen and my mum helped me make for my work collegues.

The stamp set used is dreams de juor, Helen fell in love with this set when she was over here recently stamping out some images.

very nice aren’t they.  Will bring you the other three tomorrow, and thankyou to everyone who kept on coming to visit, I know there were a quite a few of you unless it was Helen constantly visiting hahah.

southern belles november challenge

the southern belles challenge this month was a colour one, using tempting turquoise, real red, kraft and whisper white, so I did a tree with a difference using the rock n roll technique, hope you like it, and pop over to the blog to check out the other entries, it still isn’t too late to join in, just email your entry to the details on the southern belles blog.

xmas theme #4

I have used the bird from the 24-7 set, coloured in the chest red to turn it into a robin, and then I have put glitter over the lot, looks great under a light, I used the same colour scheme as the elite colour challenge.  Well that’s it for now, I have quite enjoyed doing these, but it is time for me to get on with things, and that means also that I have to make some cards I can’t show you until my receipents get them, as well as getting on to making xmas gifts etc,  at least the weather here has cooled down a bit and now I also need to get on with the spring cleaning etc, we are also going to be going off line for about a month, (that appears to be how long it takes to flick a switch) as we are getting rid of our land line and going adsl (that will show telstra to try and charge us to pay a bill – I mean how ridiculous – have had enough of them) so all in posts over the next few weeks are going to be  sporodic, so just in case I am not back before (but I really should be) hope you all have a very nice and safe xmas.

xmas theme #3

this time I have used, the baroque motif set, embossed the little flowers in silver, stamped part of the big flourish, added the bird in silver, used a new rub on greeting from the summer mini, and used the eyelet border punch as a corner punch.  I got the idea of this design from one of my elite team mates, rhonda statham but this card has turned out very differently to hers.  Tomorrow I will have the last of the xmas cards using non xmas stamps so see you then.

xmas card #2

pick a petal

now this card was insipered by a blog hopping session I had, and I can’t remember where I saw it so apologies if it is one of yours (and let me know please so I can edit this) the candle is from the pick a petal stamp set, and I Have used the rock n roll technique to shade it in pumpkin pie, the inner part is so saffron, and the dsp is from the I wish scrap kit. It is a fantastic way to use up spare bits of paper and the card is quite simple but also stunning.

xmas card #1

this is also the elite challenge #2 card, which is a colour challenge using, riding hood red, mellow moss, always artichoke, and chocolate chip, and I have added natural ivory too.

party hearty 1

the xmas trees are actually the party hat stamp from the party hearty set, I have turned them into trees, by drawing a line under them with a chocolate chip marker, don’t they make good trees! I’ve always thought they looked more like trees than hats anyway, by using your stamps in a different way you can end up with heaps of different xmas cards and get the value out of a set. Thanks for popping by and continue to this week as I have a few more up my sleeve.

soft summer #8 and it is the final one

soft summer 8

same paper as yesterday, layered in squares, onto baja breeze, and kraft, and the baja breeze ribbon.  With this one, I have ommitted part of the stamp and used the lower half only, coloured in markers.  This isn’t the first time I have used this paper with this stamp, I had quite forgottten that earlier on I did a 6×6 version of this, isn’t it funny how certain papers and stamps seem to go together without you even thinking about it. Thanks for looking and tomorrow we are starting a new series of using stamps for xmas cards, that aren’t actually xmas stamps! Intriguing eh! See you then.

soft summer 7

I know I said that the last card was the last using soft summer, but I can’t seem to put this set away, here is number 7

soft summer 7

another different look, this time I have layered it onto some Parisian breeze paper which is also disappearing at the end of this month, to co-ordinate with this paper, I have coloured the stamp in baja breeze and close to coca, and used one of the corduroy buttons which is also disappearing at the end of november. Love this stamp it’s so versatile, and drop by tomorrow when I have the final one up, I promise!
