southern belles november challenge

the southern belles challenge this month was a colour one, using tempting turquoise, real red, kraft and whisper white, so I did a tree with a difference using the rock n roll technique, hope you like it, and pop over to the blog to check out the other entries, it still isn’t too late to join in, just email your entry to the details on the southern belles blog.

xmas theme #4

I have used the bird from the 24-7 set, coloured in the chest red to turn it into a robin, and then I have put glitter over the lot, looks great under a light, I used the same colour scheme as the elite colour challenge.  Well that’s it for now, I have quite enjoyed doing these, but it is time for me to get on with things, and that means also that I have to make some cards I can’t show you until my receipents get them, as well as getting on to making xmas gifts etc,  at least the weather here has cooled down a bit and now I also need to get on with the spring cleaning etc, we are also going to be going off line for about a month, (that appears to be how long it takes to flick a switch) as we are getting rid of our land line and going adsl (that will show telstra to try and charge us to pay a bill – I mean how ridiculous – have had enough of them) so all in posts over the next few weeks are going to be  sporodic, so just in case I am not back before (but I really should be) hope you all have a very nice and safe xmas.

xmas theme #3

this time I have used, the baroque motif set, embossed the little flowers in silver, stamped part of the big flourish, added the bird in silver, used a new rub on greeting from the summer mini, and used the eyelet border punch as a corner punch.  I got the idea of this design from one of my elite team mates, rhonda statham but this card has turned out very differently to hers.  Tomorrow I will have the last of the xmas cards using non xmas stamps so see you then.

xmas card #2

pick a petal

now this card was insipered by a blog hopping session I had, and I can’t remember where I saw it so apologies if it is one of yours (and let me know please so I can edit this) the candle is from the pick a petal stamp set, and I Have used the rock n roll technique to shade it in pumpkin pie, the inner part is so saffron, and the dsp is from the I wish scrap kit. It is a fantastic way to use up spare bits of paper and the card is quite simple but also stunning.

xmas card #1

this is also the elite challenge #2 card, which is a colour challenge using, riding hood red, mellow moss, always artichoke, and chocolate chip, and I have added natural ivory too.

party hearty 1

the xmas trees are actually the party hat stamp from the party hearty set, I have turned them into trees, by drawing a line under them with a chocolate chip marker, don’t they make good trees! I’ve always thought they looked more like trees than hats anyway, by using your stamps in a different way you can end up with heaps of different xmas cards and get the value out of a set. Thanks for popping by and continue to this week as I have a few more up my sleeve.

soft summer #8 and it is the final one

soft summer 8

same paper as yesterday, layered in squares, onto baja breeze, and kraft, and the baja breeze ribbon.  With this one, I have ommitted part of the stamp and used the lower half only, coloured in markers.  This isn’t the first time I have used this paper with this stamp, I had quite forgottten that earlier on I did a 6×6 version of this, isn’t it funny how certain papers and stamps seem to go together without you even thinking about it. Thanks for looking and tomorrow we are starting a new series of using stamps for xmas cards, that aren’t actually xmas stamps! Intriguing eh! See you then.

soft summer 7

I know I said that the last card was the last using soft summer, but I can’t seem to put this set away, here is number 7

soft summer 7

another different look, this time I have layered it onto some Parisian breeze paper which is also disappearing at the end of this month, to co-ordinate with this paper, I have coloured the stamp in baja breeze and close to coca, and used one of the corduroy buttons which is also disappearing at the end of november. Love this stamp it’s so versatile, and drop by tomorrow when I have the final one up, I promise!

baja breeze layout

salamanca place

look familiar, this layout is in the spring mini catalouge, I have changed it a little as by now I am sure you realise I can’t make a layout with one photo!  the paper is walk in park (about to go) the ribbon baja breeze and white, layered onto baja breeze and basic grey cardstock, and I have used a retired rubon for journalling. Because I cased the layout this page was very quick to make, which is great when time is something you don’t have a lot of, all the stampin up mini’s and catalogues are great for inspiration they are not just for seeing what new items are for sale, so don’t throw out your old mini’s and make sure you grab a new one for summer from me, just email if you want one and I’ll send one of to you (in australia of course).

soft summer final encore

well the last soft summer you will be seeing here, this set goes at the end of november be quick if you want it, as you can see I have used it in numerous ways, and just love these images so much, I’m sure to use them in my scrapbooking even if it doesn’t make it to the next catalogue, for now I will finish off with a card inspired by a demo I saw at the regionals, by one of my team mates Jenny Soulsby who unfortunetly doesn’t blog but makes fantastic cards, this one is one of Jenny’s specilities using the chalkboard technique.

soft summer 6

I have 3d the centre image but refrained from layering it onto another colour, as I quite like the effect of layering the same cardstock on top of each other. Tomorrow I will have a layout for you, I think we need a bit of a break from cards.
