a xmas tree

punch tree

neat idea eh. I got this idea from an ad in the paper the other day, saw it and thought I could make a card out of that, and here we are, the photo hasn’t come out too well, thanks to mr flash, the circle up the top is silver metallic cardstock, embossed in white, the red circles are riding hood red, embossed in silver, and the bottom bit is the designer label punch, with the circle bit cut off, if you like this enough to case it, just a word of advice, do the embossing first and then punch out the circles, I did the other way round and now I’ve got a burnt finger! Well must get going again, we are into the exam period now, so I may or may not be able to post more often or not, depending I suppose if I need to go hide away! catch up on sunday though, later in the day, that’s when Helen’s birthday will be up – it took me two weeks to make it!

oops forgot to add that the stamp sets are season of joy, snow swirled, and two retired (that’s the one of top of the tree from merry merry, and the three in the middle from snow burst)

punches three

punches three

I do like this paper from the I wish scrap kit, adhered onto gold metallic card stock, and textured chocolate chip, a riding hood red taffetta ribbon, and the xmas stamp from the hostess set punches three, and a very quick card ensues. I still haven’t made any more things to show you busy with the regional swaps now, looking forward to my holidays at the end of next week, then I am taking a break and crafting for me! I can still be contacted for orders etc, but you will have to contact me by email now, due to the problems with our phone (see post below – I missed a vital call from a customer because of this so I’m not going to be very happy if it continues, and may have to get the telco onto it).  I’d best be off and try to make my sisters birthday card or she will be getting a shop bought card, and has already told me she won’t be impressed by that! hope to catch you soon.

a very quick message

I’ve been  busy as I thought I would be, but hoping I’ll have something for you all tomorrow, meantime this is just a quick message to ask anyone who may have my home phone number coded onto speed dial of their mobile, who also has a fairly young child, to please check that your child is not calling me! constantly!!! over the last couple of months, your bill is going to be huge!!!! I haven’t been able to get the child’s name so I suggest you all check your phones. thanks (because they connect to the answering machine, some of the connections have lasted up to 10 minutes! which is also frustrating for other people trying to call us).

a surprise from Shirley

I received a lovely card from Shirley the other day, I haven’t been well again, (actually I’ve been ill most of this year so I think I will be glad when it’s over! and it’s such a long wait to get into the specialist!) and Shirley has cheered me up with this gorgeous card, it’s a single bit of cardstock, but I really love it, Thanks so Much Shirley.

actually I’d like to know where Shirley gets her ideas from, she always comes up with the most unusual designs!

page two of the southern belles layout challenge

peninsula layout 2

I’ve stuck to the layout challenge as per the southern belles october challenge (see the blog – there is some great enteries) once again Baja Blue cardstock, Parisian Breeze specialty dsp, and the stamps from Sense of Time, I love the saying, it fitted perfectly our day wondering around the peninsula, we were in no hurry and had a lovely beach walk, cliff walk, etc.  I stamped the clock onto acetate with stazon ink and adhered with a brad in the clock handles, I find it easier to use brads to adhere acetate, the saying i have adhered onto a chip tag from the onboard essentials. If you have any queries please contact me and hope to see some of your layouts appearing on the southern belles blog soon.

October challenge 1

I may not get all the october challenges finished this month, it’s a busy month, but I still like to take some time out to craft for me and that means doing a few challenges, I get a lot of new ideas by completing challenges and I like to see what everyone else comes up with too, so today I completed the Elite Challenge using the stamp set Forest Friends, mine is a simple card, as most of mine do tend to be, I like layers etc, but I always seem to come up with a card that is not cluttered etc.

forest friends 1

the photo has come out a bit fuzzy, my battery is running low and it will be the first time to be recharged so I want it to be completly exhausted, anyway here is the receipe for the card,

Chocolate chip cardstock, Stamps are Forest friends and Three little words, paper is Good Morning Sunshine, and I’ve gold embossed the tree. Tomorrow I’ll have page two of my tassie layout to show you, I have used the same sketch as before so hope you can pop by to have a look.

I’m back

well I’ve been away for the weekend, having a girlie weekend with my sister, we had a lot of fun, and I can hardly talk now, but the break away was fantastic, we went the scenic route to Naracoorte along the coorong, the best drive, although very windy coming home, I really had to hold onto the car or get blown away! You will hear more about that trip later when I hopefully get it scrapped, but in the meantime I’ve finally managed to complete my page for shirley’s challenge over on the Southern Belles blog, there are already a couple of entries up and fantastic ideas too, I had this layed out as soon as the challenge went up but only now have I had time to adhere it,

shirley challenge

I had these piccies already to layout as it’s my next page for our tassie album, so her layout came along at the right time, I’ve used the Parisian Breeze paper again, can’t believe this is my second layout using this paper and I still have half a pack left, and I will admit I didn’t think much of it in the mini, but since I got it I have used this paper more than any other I have bought! I have also used the textured baja breeze cardstock, and some of the chipboard which I covered, and adhered a couple of people shots onto as a layout with just scene’s can be a bit boring, here is a close up of the chipboard

shirley challenge close up

well must dash, have heaps to do, hope to catch you again soon.

sweet always paper

Have you all been visiting the Southern Belles site to check out this month’s challenge?  As soon as I saw the challenge from Shirley, I had inspiration for one of the cards I have to make this month, as I have little time at the moment, it had to be quick and this is a great time saver card, all you need is some scrap paper, in this case i used the Sweet Always paper, a square punch, one happy birthday stamp, and there you go.  There is some non stampin up pink pearls and gold frames from my stash, to jazz it up a bit.

dsp sweet always

I hope you will all join in the challenge this month, I’m hoping to get a layout done, to submit, I have the photos and everything just need more of that elusive time to get it together. thanks for dropping by.

Naracoorte scrapbooking and Stamping Fair

next weekend I’ll be at the Naracoorte scrapbooking and stamping fair, held at the naracoorte high school on sunday the 11th October from 9 to 4. I hope to see some of you  there, I’ll be doing the make n take table at the stampin up stall, so drop by and say Hi, the cards below are the one’s I’ll be doing on the day, you can do one of the cards for $3.00 or all 3 for $7.00

card 1

card 2

card 3

all these cards feature the crimper tool, so come by and have a try. And I know the bunnies are a bit big for the train, but it reminds  me of the most ridiculous movie I was made to watch at high school once, called the Giant Bunnies, to this day I still do not know what that movie was about, or why we had to watch it!
