another layout for my tassie holiday folder completed, must say a big thanks to Sue for sending the images to me, now that I’ve worked with them I can see heaps of potential so I’ll end up buying them yet! I went with the black and white scheme, and must admit there is some non stampin up brads, and rubon’s on these but the rest is SU.

not sure what happened to photo two, never mind, must dash got more housework to do, hope to see you soon.

I may finally end up finishing these challenges yet! this one is for the southern belles weekly challenge, today it ’s embellishments, so i made my aunties 60th birthday card, and used glitter, ribbon and brads, hope you like it

I’ll be busy the next couple of weeks preparting for the Naracoorte scrapbooking and stamping fair, hope to see some of you there, at the Naracoorte High School on sunday october the 11th. When I return from there my posting will be a bit spasmodic as we are now entering the final run for Year 12 exams and I’ll be needed at home a lot. thanks for popping in and catch you all soon.

White ink challenge
last week Roz challenged the Southern Belles to make a card using white ink, I have no end of trouble using my white ink pad it never seems to come out very well, what do you think’

using the white ink (and let me tell you my stamp was drenched but the card seems to drink it up) and the snow swirled stamp set, onto brilliant blue card, I’ve gold embossed around the tree, and topped off with a stamp from punches three which is a hostess gift set . Well that’s it with the challenges for this week, Hopefully I’ll have a layout finished for you tomorrow. thanks for looking and any tips on the white ink situation would be gratefully received.

last elite challenge
the third elite challenge for september was a sketch challenge, from page 11 of the mini, hope you like my take on it

the flower is from the heartfelt thanks set, I’ve used the certainly celery ribbon (which is free for order over $100 this month only) there is crystal effect on the flower to help it pop out a bit, flower brad from the mini, and so saffron designer paper. That’s it for the elite challenges, I’ll be back tomorrow with a challenge card from Roz.

soft summer elite challenge
another elite challenge this month was to use the soft summer stamp set, I’ve already used this one for a Southern Belles challenge but thought it might be a bit cheeky to submit the same card for two challenges, so I came up with a completely different card, you can see my southern belle one a few posts down. I’ve gone for the purple colour scheme again, the card is lovely lilac, with a bit of summer sun thrown in, elegant eggplant ribbon, and I’ve pulled out my watercolour crayons for this one, I coloured in part of the stamp with lovely liliac, summer sun and handsome hunter, then spritzed with water,

then I made a big mistake, I stuck the card on, and realised I’d meant to clear emboss the oval to have a brooch effect, so I improvised and covered it with crystal effect instead, got the same look, but the clear embossing would have been better, for the background I stamped en francais background stamp, and sponged the edges. Thanks for popping by.

more challenge cards
Hi everyone, I’ve been busy making up some more challenge cards, these one’s and the next couple of days are for the Elite Challenge for September, the first two are for the colour challenge, using the colours More Mustard, Baja Breeze, and Perfect Plum, not my ideal colour combo, and these colours do tend toward the masculine, so the first one is for the boys

I’ve used the wanted and wild west alphabet stamp sets, star punch, I do like the look of punching a shape the same colour as the base, it makes it look like it’s embossed, and white gel pen to the perfect plum cardstock, inside this card I’ve stamped the saying, You mean everything to me, from the always stamp set, one for valentines day I reckon, at least it isn’t red and white! I then decided to challenge myself a bit more and to come up with a card using these colours for a female and here is my version

again I’ve used the wanted stamp set for the embellishment, and the paisley stamp from this set as background, by adding glitter (I have used the heat and stick powder to make the glitter stay on the happy birthday saying which is from the spring mini, you can buy this one stamp for $13.95) and adding a ribbon and button, it has turned some very masculine colours into a more feminine card. So my challenge to you now – I’d love to see your cards using this colour scheme, just email them to me at redlegs4ever@gmail.com and I’ll post them up here for you. Thanks for looking and come by again tomorrow to see the other cards from the elite challenge .

another go
at the Southern belles challenge, I think I got all the layers on this time

I’ve used the great friend stamp set from the mini, bella rose paper, eyelet punch, tafetta white ribbon, and two prettiest flower, one inked in pink piroutte. This design is great for using up pieces of leftover paper, and you may find that I will be using this design a bit this month, as it is also good for a number of occasions, I made this card for a friend to thank her for a wonderful dinner party she held, and I just realised I’ve got 3 birthdays in october, and no spare saturdays at all that month, so I better get a move on, it would be just very sad if some of my rellies got a shop bought card! catch you soon.

Southern Belles Challenge
have you seen the southern belles challenge yet? pop on over to our blog and participate in the card challenge, you could win something. We’d love to see your cards, the first challenge is a card map by Denise, and here is the one I have done for the challenge

I’ve used items from the spring mini, the stamp sets are soft summer, and oval all, the parisian breeze paper, which is textured cover weight paper and it’s really nice, I’ve just finished a layout using this paper in a quilted pattern style, and it’s great, these are some of the leftovers, I’ve matted onto kraft, baja breeze and chocolate chip cardstock, and using my markers to colour the two stamps, in old olive and Close to Coca. I hope you like it, I haven’t followed the map exactly, i forgot a couple of layers but I’m happy with this the way it is, I may give it another go later in the month, the challenge goes for a month so you have plenty of time to get creative.

Happy Fathers Day

this is the card I made for my Dad, it isn’t wonky, that ’s the way it scanned, and I couldn’t correct it, my scanner program has gone awol and I had to scan through photo shop, I do not like it when programs go missing, anyway to the card, it’s an image from the new mini unchartered territory, and it’s great for blokes, I’ve stamped the yacht image inside to continue the theme. I’m in a rush today (that’s my life just now though)so that’s all for now, thanks for popping by. Don’t forget to check out this month’s special on the special page.
ps forgot to add that I ‘ve pulled out my crayons to colour this, I’m not overly pleased with the result, but it’s a rush job, I had a card ready for dad but my other sister needed one so I gave her that one, then had no time to make a replacement. never mind dad will like it regardless.
