Many circles

I’m seeing circles today, from the circle circus  set, hope you like them, if you want any information about the products just email, I’ve also updated the specials page, so go check out the cool promotions for May and let me know if anything there entices you.  btw I have used the Haiku paper on one of the cards below, and I really love this set of paper, the colours are very earthy and pleasing on the eye.

Wow that layout is bright, when I first saw this set I found it difficult to come up with ideas, but once I started playing with it, I realised how versatile it is. Well I could show you a lot more, seeing as I haven’t posted since last week, but I’m keeping them up my sleeve, a lot of demonstrators are off to the convention this weekend, so I may be the only one  updating  blog’s this weekend. so Keep tuned! heheh.

that’s probably it for today, my mojo has run away – wish I could too. Bit of stress around here due to the amount of homework set to students at the year 12 and uni level, so sadly Sunday’s class may well be the last this year, as we have to give our sons the space and time to be able to study.

Bloomin with beauty

I’m trying out some colour techniques before our class on sunday, here’s one stamped with stazon, and coloured with markers, the watercolour paper really makes a difference to the ease of colouring, hope to be back with more later this week, enjoy

Colour challenge

I’ve decided to take part in a colour challenge on Alisa Tilsner’s site, she has challenged us to use Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango and Pink Piroutte, and a neutral colour.  Here’s what I came up with, the first card is for Kristie so that she can remember to enjoy herself over the coming weeks,

enjoy-every-moment

this card uses the enjoy every moment set, and I’ve used some pink piroutte designer paper and the eyelet punch, as  a border as shown in a update below, the next card I’ve done just because I couldn’t wait to play with the circle circus set, this will be great for scrapbooking, I wish I had the ribbon to put on these cards, but I’m still waiting for it, but I think it would of made a difference

Happy Birthday Alex

It’s my son’s birthday tomorrow, here’s the card I made for him, bit of an injoke here, he hate’s bugs so it’s very tongue in cheek

I’ve put as many bugs on this card as I can, you should see the inside. Love the new incolours they are really great this year, I’ve already used heaps, I also did this card as last weeks challenge for Roz, I’ve been a bit slack on challenges lately, but I’ve got heaps of birthdays in the next few weeks, so I’ll still have more to show soon, it’s my nephew’s Birthday on Wednesday (happy birthday Daniel) so here is his card, still keeping in the incolour theme, and I’ve used ocean commotion

must get going, I want to do some crafting before going to church tonight, it’s the greek easter this weekend (seems strange to have easter two weeks in row!) and we are going to be very busy all weekend.  Christos Anesti everyone.

embrace life with a difference

Here are two cards that my sister Helen, has made using the embrace life set, however instead of just stamping she has sewn around the outlines, this set is perfect for sewing.  Helen has also added glitter to really make them pop out, the pink one also has some SU paper, the cardstock is blush blossom, I reckon the green one is old olive, and so saffron, but the rest of the items are non SU. I love the bead details.

Eyelet border punch

I was making some swaps today, and they needed something to make the mundane leap out.  A corner punch, but I didn’t want to do the old favourite corner rounder, so I grabbed my eyelet punch turned it upside down and wow, I’ve done some photos for you all, this is how to turn your border punch into a corner punch.

eyelet-1

start with your punch and cardstock

eyelet-2

line up the corner of your card, in the middle of the punch, ensuring the corner of the card is directly under the middle circle, the two edges of the card should just be above the two dips that join the other bits together (this is a bit hard to explain) here’s a close up

eyelet-3

and the end result is

eyelet-4

hope you understand all that, if not drop me a line. I’m off to finish my swaps, will be back later with some challenges I’m doing. tfl

Inspired by Nature layouts

My favourite set in the new catalogue is Inspired by nature, as soon as I saw it I had so many ideas for scrappages, it had to be the first set I ordered.  Below I’ve done two pages, like most of my pages they aren’t overdone, I like the photos to be the focal point of my page, especially as I’m scrapping holidays.

eagle

I’ve stamped the flower image in basic grey onto going grey card, the alpha is Big Deal, and I’ve also used the new curly label punch and cute and curly stamp, I’ve inked the stamp by hand to omit the thankyou on it and used it as a label.  There is also some rubon alpha on this page, I’m really happy with how it’s turned out, I love the silhoutte nature of this stamp set.

kanga

The other stamp in this set is a grass stamp and again the ideas are swirling round my head, I’ve also used a retired stamp (the kangaroo) from on walkabout set, it’s perfect for these types of pages, I’ve stamped the grass in kiwi kiss onto sahara sand card, (not my first choice but I’ve run out of close to coca boohoo).  These layouts are going into my kangaroo island album, I’ve just realised I’m scrapping two island holidays at the moment! Hope you are all having a safe easter and I’ll be back later this weekend with more I hope!

Of Course

How can I forget that gorgeous paper so quickly, it is Bali Breeze, my excuse is that I’m so excited at the new paper in the new catalogue I’ve forgotten the older one’s.  Have a look at the post below to see  what I’m talking about, and yes Helen, I’ll bring a surprise to you next week.  I was having a good run yesterday, at least everyone left my house laughing!! will be back later in the week with a few card updates. But in case I don’t get back on before easter, I wish you all a happy and safe easter.
