Ginger Blossom Cards

ginger-blossom-31I’ve been very busy lately making 17 cards, as I had to make such a lot the quickest way was to use designer paper.  The ginger Blossom paper was perfect and I’ve made 14 different designs using only 2 sheets of this paper. Over the next couple of days I’ll be showing you all the designs and at the end I’d like you to vote for your favourite, I’ll select a comment at random and send the winner some blog candy (my first blog candy how exciting)

Here are the first five, all cards use the ginger blossom paper, and either River Rock, Groovy Gauva, Ruby Red or Cameo Coral ink, cardstock. The stamped words come from several different sets, so if you see one you like and would like to know more about it just pop me an email.

Valentine Card

This is the card I gave Manny for valentine’s day (we don’t celebrate it but I like making cards!)

I’ve used the Always set from the spring mini, so it’s retired now, but it hopefully might make it to the new catalogue out on 1st April.  If you have your heart set on anything in the present catalogue put your orders in soon – we don’t know what’s retiring yet but I’d hate you to miss out.  While I’ve been lying about recovering this week I’ve been highly entertained by the wildlife in my garden,  I’ve figured out the parrots are economical when eating our figs they always  eat it all before moving on, so I don’t mind them stealing any but the Noisy Minors take one bite then go to another, so I chase them off.

Then we had a visit from a koala, don’t know why they have started coming down here, there mustn’t be much  to eat up at Morialta.

till next time hope you all keep well and don’t catch that nasty cold that’s going around – it takes a full week to start getting over it.

Quick happy birthday card

Isn’t it always the way when you aren’t well someone says “I need a birthday card today”! Teenagers why can’t they tell us in advance, anyway not feeling so good these last few days so it was a very quick and simple card.

Thank goodness for the Confetti scrap kit, I just had to cut a bit of the paper and use the dye cuts and no thinking involved. Threw it all together in a matter of minutes and went back to bed. Sorry there hasn’t been any updates this weekend, Hopefully I’ll be back to my usual self next week.  Don’t forget the scrapbooking fair on next sunday at the Morphett viale racecourse (that’s vile racecourse – wordpress is playing up not letting me delete anything) 9.00 to 4.00 hope to see you there.

more challenges

I’ve completed two of the elite challenges for this month, the first was using the Polka Dot Punches stamp set

sab-polka-dot-2

when I looked at this stamp I saw Peacock for some reasons I think it was the swirls, so I’ve coloured in the stamp with my markers the same colours as a peacocks tail. The next challenge was a colour challenge using, Blue Bayou, almost amethyst and Lavenders Lace,  I’ve used the Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel and inked in the Laveners Lace onto cardstock of each colour, I didn’t want to take away from the front so my greeting is inside (this card is a congrat card to my son for his successful completion of his Diploma)

I’ve still got one more to go and as the weather has improved I’d better get onto it, I’m still really tired out from the heat so I don’t have much motivation today though. tfl

another brief one today, Adelaide is still sweltering in the heat, I’m lucky to have made this one yesterday when it was cooler (33C) which for us is now a COOL change it’s 12 degrees less anyway but we are so over this heat, I really feel for the infirm, elderly and babies. Hope the electricity doesn’t go off again. I’m actually thinking of changing places with Christine who is braving the cold in England!! After nursing our fern tree through the drought the last 5 years I am really upset to say that I think the heat has got to it, here’s a couple of before and after shots.
