I’ve used the word stamp from the sale-a-bration botanical bloom set, and rose red dsp paper. hope you enjoy, I doubt there will be any updates over this weekend due to the extreme heat in Adelaide, I just can’t get anything done – at least I’ve got a good book to read. Hope you are all coping well in this heat and stay cool.

Earth Elements layout
As promised here is the layout inspired by the card I did for a challenge. I ended up doing a double layout (these challenges sure are helping me get my scrapping done!) I’ve used the same items as for the card, with the addition of More Mustard ribbon (I really like this colour ribbon it seems to go with a lot) some additional non stamping up items on this, are the title using a cricuit (not sure about the cartridge) and the ball and chain I made using up some of my beading supplies – boy it’s been awhile since I used those, they are so dusty! Hope you enjoy them, I would have had them up yesterday but the Tour Down Under passed by the end of my street so I was out there filming – they flash by so quick though – got 15 seconds of film! then spent the rest of the afternoon downloading the stuff in the camera onto the dvd, didn’t realise it hadn’t been done for three years!! Got a lot of laughs though.

Time for you
In the summer mini there is a very nice stamp set called Time for You, I love all the images in this set, they are so relaxing, our challenge this week was to use Earth Elements, so I have made Dad a birthday card. What do you think, the receipe is below.

Sale-a-bration layout challenge
The challenge’s are coming thick and fast again, my new year resolution this year is to use the photo’s I have already printed out waiting to be scrapbooked, likewise the cards will be made with people in mind that way I’m not left with a box of cards. I’ve therefore used a photo of Alex taken a few years ago at Port Arthur, but this photo is more about his personality. I’ve used a die cut circle from the crew kids boy scrap kit, and the botancial blooms sale-a-bration set. Hope you enjoy it.

Sale-a-bration
I’ve yet to get some of the sale-a-bration stamp sets, however our first challenge of the year is for a card using one of these sets. Sue has kindly sent me some images so here are a couple of cards

I’ve had a good play with this one, I dragged out my Stampin’ pastels and used the punched out 5 petal flower as a template, I then used some rubon’s from urban west and hidden garden, a black brad in the middle to finish off. I don’t use my pastels often enough but it’s come out quite nice, I used the stamp from the polka dot puches set for more about the sale-a- bration visit the promotions page. I tend to use the cardstock summer sun and old olive a lot at this time of year – very summery. Next one is completly different

all black and white!! needed to use up that black and white gingham ribbon but I love the simplicity of this card. Hope the new owners of these two cards like them – I’ve decided to send off my challenge cards each time so I don’t get left with a box at the end of the year. If you need to know anymore just email, to have a look at some more designs using the sale-a-bration sets visit Sue at www.stampindesigns.typepad.com/blog. I’m thinking of holding a class soon on making your own embellishments – let me know if you are interested.

Some challenges
Well our team has taken a break from challenges for awhile and as I like doing challenges I decided to have a go at the current challenge being held by the Elite Team, I’m quite happy with how my cards have turned out, but I’m not posting them onto the Elite site as I’m not confident enough to do that, here’s the first one, the challenge was a colour challenge for Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac and Groovy Guava, what a challenge all colours I dislike however I’ve now used tempting turquoise in the last three cards I’ve made so maybe I’m coming around, I’ve used the Eastern Blooms stamp set, the greeting is from For a Friend (a hostes set) the new scallop punch, and one of the scallop stamps from all scallops, all available in the summer mini.

the next challenge was to use the new Ocean Commotion stamp set, cardstock is Tempting Turquoise and Taken with Teal, and I’ve added dazzling diamond glitter around the edges,

the last one was a sketch design, here is my version, no stamps here (apart from the smile Be Happy set) the paper is from the new range bali Breeze I really love this paper and I’ve puched out some small flowers in Groovy Guava, Blue Bayou, and certainly celery using the punch from the three for you punch box (on page 143 of the catalogue).

the card isn’t crooked that’s the way it scanned! So it was great fun and I can’t believe I made all three under 2 hours! that’s a record for me. Thanks for looking hope you can get some ideas from them.

Page two of double layout
Here is the second page of my christmas layout, once again I have put a 6×6 challenge onto my 12×12 page. The 6×6 challenge was for a christmas layout using at least one stamp, I’ve used the retired snowburst set from the spring mini (hope this comes out in next years catalogue) and embossed it, I’ve used a tiny rubon, I’d already taken the picture but decided that something was missing once it went onto my 12×12 page, so I added some pearls from the pretties kit at draw the eye to the rubons.

I had a lot of photos to go into this layout, you can see the first page below, so I’ve only added some words from the winter scrap kit onto some chipboard and that’s it.

That’s my mum and sister Helen (you have seen some of their work on here before) making me some new christmas decorations, my tree looks great now, lots of glitter, and lovely paper on chipboard stars etc. My husbands still off work but goes back in a couple of weeks, he has been home a long time and I haven’t got much craft done, today we went to the zoo, here is a pic of what we saw.

Don’t they look relaxed, the zoo was changing their water over, so we got a good look at them for once.
thanks for visiting, Sale-a-bration has started with Stampin’ Up! this month, so for every $100 you spend you can choose a set from one of four, these are available for a limited time only and you can’t buy them. If you would like to see them just pop over to the stampin up website, (I don’t have my phamplet at the moment so can’t show you just yet).
