season of joy

If you have been over at Roz’s site you will have seen her card using punches. I really love the design of Roz’s punch card and so I made a version of it using christmas colours and the season of joy set.

Something a bit different

I thought I’d share a card I received in the mail this week, some of you know I haven’t been well for a couple of weeks, and my stampin buddy Shirley sent me this card to cheer me up

isn’t it lovely.  The verse inside is beautiful and printed on patterned vellum paper.  Thank you so much Shirley, it has cheered me up heaps. I’m not a good patient I hate lying around! I had a very welcome visitor though, look who came calling into our backyard.  Poor thing it’s so hot here today he keeps moving down the tree to get into the shade. He didn’t like the planes going over, he threw back his head and let out one long growl! I suppose he wanted to sleep.

hopefully I’ll have some cards for you soon, I’m doing heaps of scrapping at the moment. thanks for dropping by.

Fun with Punches

Our team challenge this week was punches, so I had a lot of fun making this card up.  I used several different size circles, the scallop punch, and even the Boho Blossoms punch for the mane and tails, I’ve stamped the stars from the city of david set, and cut out some grass.  I thought I’d do something a bit different. Hope you enjoy it.

If you haven’t already seen Roz’s punch card pop over to her blog and have a look, it’s a  very lovely card.  Our team have all done something different for this challenge, it’s amazing what you can do with punches. Hopefully  some of the cards will make it up on the southern belles blog soon.  I’m off to do some scrapbooking today, haven’t done any for ages so I may have a layout up next time.  Thankyou for visiting my site.

Bodacious

Our team challenge last week was fake stitching or pricking.  I decided to do a card using each technique and I’ve been hanging out to use my new bodacious bouquet set.  Both cards are stamped from this set as you can see they are completely different, what great value.  First card I used Ruby red and I think Cameo Coral or it may be regal rose, you’ll have to forgive me for not knowing that, I’m still really fuzzy headed, I’ll be glad when I get back to normal, this is very frustrating! The sentiment us from Wonderful words set. Then  I used the white gel pen to fake stitching, very simple but effective.

The next card hasn’t scanned too well, the scanner has chopped the top bit off, the old olive is layered onto So Saffron card, I’ve used crystal effects on the flowers and dimensions to raise them above the card, then I’ve used the pricking tool from the Crafters Tool Kit to prick around the stem.  I’ve spritzed each layer with the spritzer and markers.

Thanks for dropping by,  next weeks challenge is punches.   I hope you drop by then to see what I’ve been playing with.

More merry cards

I made these cards before I got sick last week. I’ve used the merry merry set and to date I have made 8 very different cards with this set alone.  It is very versatile, I like the fact you can easily use it to get a 3d effect, it’s great for embossing, glitter etc.  It looks so different each time depending which colour card stock you use.

Here I used 4 gold brads in the middle bauble to have it stand out.  The card below I have used glitter on each bauble.

Then I decided to use softer cardstock, white embossing and I have punched a circle, and added a snowflake which I used heat n stick powder to add the glitter. This card didn’t scan too well, the images are stamped onto the soft sky using soft sky ink, so it’s quite light but looks great in real life. I’ll upload the other one later.

Tart n Tangy

Just a brief post today, this is a card I made some time ago but I like to put something up regularly for my frequent visitors to see.  I’ve not been well this week so no new cards but hopefully I’ll have something at the weekend.  This card is a favourite as it’s so bright, and cheery, and I’ve used the scratch and sniff technique.  If you would like to know how to do this technique just email me and I’ll send the instruction to you.

merry merry

A couple more christmas cards, these are from the Merry Merry set, so far I’ve only used a couple of stamps from this set but I think this is going to become  my favourite xmas set, I’ve got heaps of ideas for more card’s using this one. Today I concentrated on embossing on vellum, with the silver one I moved the stamp before lifting it as I wanted to get a few more strands happening.

Carte Postale – Tearing

I had another go at the tearing technique for the team challenge and I’m much happier with the result below.  I’ve used carte Postale and Le Jardin Designer Paper, River Rock card stock, square brad, and cuttlebug.

A very different design for me, these colours just jumped out of my box this morning and seemed to work together so well. I’ll be back later to post another one I’ve done for the team challenge.

Spring Solitude

As promised here is the card I made during last months team swap, the swap was for a card using a Hostess set, I used the Spring Solitude bundle, the colours (blue Bayou, River Rock, and Purely pomegrante) have given the card a shabby chic feel, I used the crystal effects on the flower and was a bit surprised how bright this made the flower.

The team has started a blog where we will take turns to choose three cards a week to display.  I’ve added the link at the side, so be sure to go over and have a look.  We have a lot of talented ladies in our team and have a lot of fun completing the various swaps and challenges.
