another birthday

July is a busy month birthday wise for me, there are 3, but I only have to make two cards (unless I have to make my own, like I did for Mothers day haha) I can’t actually show you the card I made for my motherinlaw as I did case it and I know the original designer would not like it, so instead I’m showing you the inside, I’ve said before that I try to decorate the inserts and this is one of the things I do

mannys mum inside

I have cut out a flower from the Holiday treasures, (which I have used on the front of the card but I’ve made it a birthday not chrissy card) and it just takes that plainess away. A great way to use up some off cuts as well.

Hoppy Memories

I finally got a little bit of time to do a scrap page! I’ve been looking at these photos for months – they are displayed in my scrap room waiting with all the others to scrap, well the other day when I was visiting Nicoles (sorry you will have to click on her name, I forgot to jot down the link) she had challenged everyone to do a page from the Hoppy Memories scrap kit,  I only had a short time so I copied the sample from the kit, changed the colours a bit, and yah very quick – hope you like it. (I love that about these kits, you can get a page done in as little as 10 minutes!) check them out from page 138 on.

I’ll be getting a lot more of these I can tell you, I’m about to start the album which I am planning to give David on his 21st birthday, (a couple of years yet thank god, but it’s going to take me that long!). The colours above are a bit funny, I was deleting a lot of old stuff of here and maybe I have done something strange! Anyway I haven’t forgotten the candy blog – I will tell you that Linda has won it and Judith is getting a consulation prize, thanks everyone for playing along, and I’ll edit that post tomorrow with the answers!

Happy Birthday to David

Yesterday was my oldest son’s birthday, here’s the card I made him

card games

I’ve used the card games set (page 101 $33.95)  and kept it simple, the tag is a retired stamp and there is gold lines next to the red card stock, it looks great in real life, inside I’ve stamped some dominos and things from the game night set ($33.95)  these are great sets for men especially when they aren’t into sport! Check  out the special page for this months specials, it’s the same as last month, but soon there will be news about the spring mini due out on August 1st, so please drop me a line if you’d like a copy and I’ll post one out to you when they have been received (australia only).

Atc Card chalkboard technique

chalk board challenge

I thought I’d show you the atc card I made for the chalkboard technique challenge for the Elite Stampers Team (I’m part of this due to my upline x 4! – being part of the stamping up team means you are able to interact with a whole team of other demonstrators all around Australia – it’s great) anyway each month there is a new technique set, which means we can practice our skills, the technique above entails stamping Whisper White craft ink onto a dark background, then covering with chalk.  Have a go of this today and see what you can come up with.   (I’ve used the Inspired by nature stamp and only inked one section of it).

another challenge

our challenge for this week in the Southern Belles team is a tag card, here is my submission

so glad we're friends

I’ve used some of the Sweet Always paper which is pretty out there! colour wise, backed onto Pumpkin Pie card, Chocolate ribbon, and button to tone it down a bit, and the saying from the Best Yet hostess set. Very quick the designer papers come in handy when you are low on time and need a card in a hurry, and being doubled sided they go so well together so you don’t even have to worry about co-ordination.  I’ve also stamped one of the pocket silhoutte stamps (page 72 )  inside - I always try to have a nice insert, seems a waste to spend time on a nice card and then scrimp on the insert! Don’t forget to contact me if you have any queries.

Friends 24 – 7

friends 24 - 7

I hope you like this card, I’ve become quite taken with Bordering Blue cardstock it is quite a good colour for soft backgrounds, I’ve stamped one of the stamps from friends 24-7 onto the card using bordering blue ink, and on confetti white I’ve stamped the flower from the set, a bit of sponging to finish it off.  A couple of things before I run off, don’t forget to put in your entry for the blog candy, see the post below for spotting the differences, and let me know if you would like to attend any of the classes  – see the class pages.

a xmas bird

the spring set  little birdie looks great used for a christmas card

2

Helen, has layered it onto a bit of dashing paper (retired) and I’m not too sure about the other paper, then she has cut out some holly and a very quick xmas card, It’s not too early to start on your cards for christmas yet, avoid the rush at the end of the year! I’ll be making xmas cards all afternoon, so I have to get on and pack my gear. Happy crafting today.

A big thankyou to Helen for supplying all the cards this week and helping me out I really appreciate it. I thinks it’s also nice to see a very different style to mine so I hope you have all enjoyed it too.
